The Newland name is well known within the club, and we are saddened to say that the matriarch of that clan has recently passed away. Eileen Newland is another that joined the club in the 70’s and although she was never on the committee (Phil more than made up for that!) she was a very active supporter of the club, often doing the unglamorous jobs in the background that no one else wanted to do. Latterly anyone that attended the National would not be able to miss her beaming smile as she passengered Steve at the National comp, well into her 80’s.
