We are sad to report that Trevor Jones recently died in hospital as a result of complications following a second heart bypass operation. Before moving to Lincoln a few years ago, Trevor was a very active member of Southern and he was one of life’s characters. You certainly knew when he was around, he was always willing to help and his expansive personality was particularly useful in drawing everyone’s attention at an event when it may have otherwise drifted! Trevor remained a member of Southern and occasionally travelled to some of our events, notably Renhurst Farm, with his eldest son Huw who it seems is quite handy behind the wheel of a Land Rover.
All his friends are invited to his funeral which will take place at 1.50 on Tuesday 7th April at Lincoln Crematorium, Washingborough Road (B1190), Lincoln, LN4 1EF. Jane, his wife, has advised that anyone attending is welcome to meet up at their house, Aberfoyle, School Lane, Broadholme, Saxilby, Lincoln, LN1 2LZ so that there will be a convoy of Land Rovers following the hearse to the Crematorium, leaving at 1pm. Trevor never was one for wearing a shirt & tie let alone a suit and his family have asked that anyone attending should dress accordingly, preferably in jeans and club attire or Land Rover branded casual wear, in fond memory of a good Land Rover owner. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone who knew Trevor.
Our thoughts are with Jane, Huw & Owen.
